Macau is an autonomous area on the south coast of China, throughout the Pearl River Delta from Hong Kong. A Portuguese territory till 1999, it displays a mixture of cultural influences. Its big casinos and malls on the Cotai Strip, which joins the islands of Taipa and Coloane, have earned it the nickname, “Las Vegas of Asia.” Certainly one of its extra putting landmarks is 338m-high Macau Tower, with sweeping metropolis views.
